Max Domi On The Trade Block, Bruins Should Be interested In His Services

The NHL trade deadline is February 26th.  The Arizona Coyotes are looking to shop center Max Domi.  Domi is going to be a restricted free agent this summer.  The Coyotes are sellers since they are an NHL worst 12-31-9 for 33 points.  Domi is a forward the Bruins should want.

Domi is not a goal scorer but can set up his teammates.  This season he has 3 goals and 19 assists for 22 points.  In his career so far he has 30 goals and 82 assists for 112 points.  Domi can play on the power play and at full strength.

On the power play, Domi sets up near the net where he can tip the puck past the goaltender or find his teammates for scoring chances.  That tactic often ends in power play goals.  Domi has a total of 3 power play goals and 25 power play assists.

On full strength he is able to skate around defense-men for scoring chances.  If Domi doesn’t score, he can feed to an open skater allowing teammates to score while the defending goaltender is out of position.

The Bruins can use more offense heading into the playoff run.  Domi fits in well with this team.  At center the Bruins have Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci and Riley Nash.  All of them can put the puck past the goaltender.

The Bruins need to make a move for Domi.  After Patrice Bergeron, David Krejci and Riley Nash they have Sean Kuraly.  Kuraly is not the player Max Domi is.  Kuraly scored 3 goals and 5 assists for a total of 8 points this year.  Adding Domi would give the Bruins more depth.

The Bruins wouldn’t have to give up much for Domi.  His salary is a relatively low $863,333 - not a lot for his skill set.  A draft pick could be all it would take to trade for him.  Domi could play on the power play and the 3rd or 4th line for the Bruins.  It would be worth the call to see what Arizona would want to trade  Domi.
